Post-bound Scrapbooks

One of the first things that is noticeable about our scrapbook is its price. At $120 it's much more expensive than most, if not all, other scrapbooks available.

We could say that our books are made here in the USA by hand, to order, and not in a factory somewhere in central china, and that while that would be correct, that answer would be patronizing. We think that you should buy the right scrapbooks at the best price for your purpose, whoever makes makes it and wherever it is made.

So we should explain what goes into our books and leave the decision to you.

We have started making post-bound books fairly recently, at the request of one customer lamented that she could not find a well made post-bound book, and she wanted the flexibility of inserting and moving pages that our traditional bound books wouldn't give her.

It may sound silly, but we resisted this request at first because we didn't want to use the cheap  hardware that is associated with both post-bound and ring binders. We simply didn't like the idea of using the same mass-produced hardware that these $15 scrapbooks were made of. We needed something better, something was more in harmony with our expensive and fine papers and cloths.

We found the right posts at one of our suppliers. Talas of Broklyn, NY carries a line of brass posts that are machined in England. They are expensive, but they met our quality bar, and we decided to move ahead with the project.

In desinging our scrapbook, we wanted to stay compatible with the standard books and inserts (such as those for the popular "project life" line of products.) These books use a three ring spaced hole pattern that we decided to adopt. so our book has three brass posts to hold the pages and inserts.
