This cover in black, white and green shows white cranes flying up and away. This traditional screen printed Chiyogami paper is crafted in Japan and is beautifully made. We matched the paper with a silk textured black binding cloth separated with a thin trim strip of golden paper. In Asia, cranes are a symbol of happiness and eternal youth. This design captures the grace and beauty of this symbol.
We make every book to order by hand in our studio. We bind the books in a traditional binding and sew our book blocks by hand, with needle and Irish linen thread. The book will lay flat when open.
We offer many different cover styles using beautiful printed and textured papers from around the world, and we can customize a cover style to your liking. Just ask us!
The inside pages are an 80# (118 gsm) text paper in natural white. The paper has a lightly textured surface and works well with pens, pencils and felt pens. Some of our customers even use it for watercolors.

Sketchbook: 8” by 8” square
Pages can be blank, printed with lines or with a dot grid (lines and dots are spaced 1/4 apart and printed in a soft gray). The Sketchbook is only available with blank pages.
Our Journals, Notebooks and Sketch books are available with 92 pages (46 leaves,) or 188 pages (94 leaves.) The 92 page book is 1/2” thick and the 188 page book is 7/8” thick.
